Hello again!

13 Mar

Hello love,

Wowza! It’s been a while!
I’ve been keeping busy, don’t you doubt it. Over at Sheepish Grin I’ve been dyeing yarn, teaching knitting classes and having a great time. But I’ve been feeling like Maker’s House has been neglected and since SGKC doesn’t indulge ALL of my creative outputs, I’m resurrecting this place here. YAY!
And, I’ve opened an Etsy shop! I’ll be adding to it over the next few daze and I’d love it if you popped over and took a looksee. Of course, this paves the way for SGKC to make the move to Etsy, too. I’ll keep you posted.

With love from the Maker’s House,

Wow! Changes!

10 Oct

Hey Friend,

I’m so excited to tell you about the launch of the new Sheepish Grin Knit Company website! Over the past couple weeks I’ve been splitting my time between dyeing like a mad woman, working on my (dreadfully overdue) Etsy shop and importing SGKC related posts from Maker’s House to the new site. On top of all that, I got to take an amazing holiday with my little bub on a cruise ship and to San Diego and we’ve been hiking around Vernon, too.

Please check out the new site and let me know what you think. This is the fork in the road – from now on, all art/craft/baby related posts will be here on Maker’s House and all dyeing and most knitting posts will be on SGKC.

Also exciting, if you didn’t know already, Vernon has a new yarn shop!! A Twist of Yarn just opened and it’s a lovely little shop.

Okay, now for fun pictures!

With Love from the Maker’s House,

Falling Headlong; or Autumn Starts.

18 Sep

Hey Friend,

Here’s a quick post with a few little updates for ya! Fall starts soon and I’m feeling it. I just finished knitting my Cowichan-style sweater and need to get started on some mittens and a scarf or two, methinks.

Sheepish Grin Knit Company has a brand spankin’ new logo. This is because it was originally designed for signage for a brick and mortar shop. That is, to be seen BIG!!! But with the direction things have gone, I’m now using the logo on ball bands for yarn. That is, SMALL!!! So I’ve redesigned the logo to be more clear and simple. Tell me what you think.

In related news, I’ve almost got the Etsy shop ready to open. I think by the end of the week everything should be in order. I’ll keep you posted. And please accept this humble reminder that Thursday, September 20th will be my last day for the season at the Vernon Farmer’s Market. So, if you can’t make it this Thursday, the Etsy shop should be open (almost) right away. Or, if you’re in the North Okanagan and would like to peruse my yarn, please contact me and we can meet up in person.

Lastly, I’m going away next week and I need something to put into my knitting bag. Any ideas?

With love from the Maker’s House,

Big News!

Hey friend,
Today I have big news for you. Sheepish Grin Knit Company will be at Got Craft? Vancouver at the Croatian Cultural Centre on December 8th and 9th!!!

We are so, so, SO excited about this. There are tons of awesome vendors including Sublime Stitching who I just luuurrrve as well as makers of beautiful jewellery, letterpress and so much more! You can see a list of all this year’s makers here.

In preparation, I’ll be stocking up on all our yarns in all the current colourways and creating some new ones too. I’ve got a lot of work to do and some huge orders to place, so I’m going to run now and start making lists.

In conclusion, OH MY GAWWWWD!!!
